venous/lymphatic malformation of mouth
my daughter is 20 months old and we are now facing the possability of surgery on her lip. she has what apprears to be a combination of venous & lymphatic malformation affecting her cheek, bottom lip, & tongue. over the past several months her bottom lip has enlarged and the side of her tongue is slowly enlarging. this area is purple in color. she has been seen in the chicago area by a group of doctors who suggested surgery on her lip, but i am seeking any others out there w/ similar malformations for any info on treatments & outcomes. i am willing to travel afar to get her good treatment by a doctor very familiar w/ this.

Re: venous/lymphatic malformation of mouth
Hi,
I live in Montreal, Canada. I was operated for an arteriovenous malformation of the lip in 2003 by Dr. Waner, then in Arkansas, and who now practices in NYC. He's THE doctor for what you describe: a vascular malformation of the tongue, cheek and lip. The vast majority of his patients are children. Go in the Left Menu, and click on Find a Physician: his infos are there. If you need any more information or help, don't hesitate to e-mail me. Lise Daoust |
Hi - I have a daughter that was born with a VM on her lip, cheek and tongue. She just turned 5 years old and I am wondering if you had any updates on treatment. My daughter has had the area on her lip lasered and partially removed at Seattle Childrens and would love to hear from you.
