Newby seeking to make contact
 

Hi, gang -

I am an adult with a port wine stain (on my face). I had an awful time as a child - kids are so cruel - but I got through it. I had several laser treatments YEARS ago, but I ran out of money before I ran out of birthmark...:rolleyes: So, I still have much of it.

I just wanted to make contact, preferably with people in the midwest. I live in L.A. but plan to move to the midwest next year or in 2009. Don't know where yet. I have a trip to Chicago coming up in a couple of weeks. I'll go from Chicago, up into Wisconsin, looking for nice places to live (commuting distance from technical writing jobs).

When I make the move, I will know no one there. I have no family (distant cousins in distant places; only one - in Canada - keeps in touch) and will be totally alone. I'd like to start corresponding with VBF-ers in the midwest, so that I might feel like I'm going somewhere where I know people, when I move.
