Hi my daughter has finally been seen by a specialist who has diagnosed her with a Segmental H on her eye/head - I cant seem to find much info. on this type - does it go away like most other types of H (steroid therapy has not worked), is it more dangerous?
Any information appreciated!
Hello, my son had a segmental hemangioma of the right side of his face/head, ear, eyelid. Segmental h. will involute, but often will leave atrophied skin. Steroids did work for my son early on (he started them at 6 weeks old and finished in 12 weeks). We then went on to laser tx. 8 total. It is very very hard to tell he ever had a b-mark before. If you have more questions I would be happy to go into more detail via email or a post.
how old is your child?
Thanks for your reply. My daughter is 8 months old and is provisionally booked in for eyelid surgery in May, but this is only to debulk the eyelid so she can see. We dont want to rush into laser at the moment but may do in the future.
