68 Year Old Treated at 6 Months with Radium
Hello. My hemangioma was treated with radium at age 6 months. It left a 3 inch by 4 inch area that gradually faded except for a central area of purple veins. It has always been extremely tender to touch and I keep it covered. Lately a small area is leaking a small amount of fluid. I am bothered by occasional stabbing and burning pain which especially bothers my sleep. Does anyone know if laser or other treatment might help. I don't think surgery would help. The skin is not normal and would likely require skin grafts. Thank you.

Hi and welcome!
You need to be seen by a specialist. Where are you located? Missy |
I live in San Diego and am a member of Kaiser Permanente. I showed the problem area on my calf to my family practice doctor and she said to use benadryl. I will ask for a referral to a dermatologist. Thank you.

Thank you Missy. The website is wonderful. I sent an email and photos to Dr. Levitin
