nervous new mom.....
 

Proud to welcome our first back in february, but my darling little peanut has what I think is a large hemangioma, (about the size of a cherry) my doc keeps saying, no worries it will go away, but its on her precious little face and I am not sure what to do.... Any advice from others in my situation? Please help! My pictures are too large to upload, but the H is right between her eyes, its very raised and swollen, and growing sooooo rapidly! Thank you.

IMO, if it is growing rapidly and on the face, get a 2nd and get going on treatment. My ped. (at first) said "wait and see) but my daughter's grew so fast it took over her entire cheek in just 4 weeks. I pushed to get to see a specialist and have the ball rolling.

We are located about 40 min east of albany ny. I am approx. 3 hours from boston and 5 hours from nyc. Any reccomendations of doctors in that area?

Emily, she needs to be seen. I saw Dr. Waner in NYC and he was awesome. You can contact me if you'd like. My daughter had a similar compound hemangioma on the top of her head that was growing rapidly as well.

KatieG- what kind of tx did your daughter have? How old was she when you started? Thank you for taking time to post, How did you initially get in touch with dr waner?

I actually emailed him pictures of her when she was 7 weeks old showing him the progress. He emailed me back immediately. Told me to call him on his cell, etc. Very nice.

We met with him when she was 3 months old and he told us our options. She had it removed at 4.5 months old. Let me know if you have any other questions!
