My daughter also had a scalp hemangioma recently...

My daughter also had a scalp hemangioma recently removed. We are really happy with the outcome. Recovery was quick and easy and her scar is healing so well.

Agreed, being pro-active and being informed is essential. I would recommend seeing a pediatric dermatologist to start with. They are more familiar with hemangiomas.
