the H you described with black and yellow,,sounds infected.... you should have it checked out..

Graying does mean that specific part may have stopped growing..although it may grow in other areas.

they all react differently, but my concern is the "yellow" around the black..

you should have it looked at by an experienced H specialist....
the sooner it is checked out the better~
