I am the mom of a 12 year old boy who has had laser treatments since he was 11 mos. old on his facial PWS. I have never kept him indoors or away from friends or the public during the healing time post treatment and even sent him back to school on Monday following a Friday surgery. I have done this for the very reason you are writing about. I just put him on a plane by himself 2 days post surgery and while he's more concerned about his looks these days, his age is a factor, I want him to live his life regardless of what people say or if they stare. Be open with your co-workers, give them a chance to support you. Having a PWS is nothing to be ashamed of and there are far worse conditions that people suffer from, without the option of treatment. Get out there and live your life and give your boss and co-workers the benefit of the doubt. Good Luck!!
