Our 2y 4m year old daughter has a very much faded and much smaller single blob version of what looks like the same thing.

After zero treatment it has now got to the point that you hardly notice it.

I would go with what the Canadians are telling you and not stress yourself about it too much. These things all follow a similar pattern if they are going to go away. Our one went a darker red than your pictures, to a purple with grey bits and then pinker areas until now it is almost skin like with a few blood vessels in it.

However even though our one was very small it was more disturbing than i realised it would be. Especially if you are like me and you tend to look at it fairly closely each day or several times a day. But in two years time you will probably looking at something you hardly notice.
