I don't have a child who has had surgery but my daughter is 5 months with an upper lip hemangioma, we started her on the timolol topical gel at 3 months and switched to propranol at 4 months. We have not seen any further growth. I'm surprised your dermatologist didn't discuss that treatment with you and went right to surgery...most people have excellent results with propranol.
