Default Birthmark on scalp

My son has a large birthmark that appears to be at least partly vascular on the top of his head, front left side. It does not look like a typical port wine stain, and the hair is longer on the birthmark than on the rest of his head, which is mostly bald since he is only 2 months old. A dermatologist said he it appeared to be vascular, but we don't have an appointment with the local pediatric dermatologist expert til November. The port wine stains surround an area which appears to have larger than average veins (but this may not be the case, they may appear larger because the skin is thiner over the entire area than it is on the rest of his head.) Does anyone have a similar birthmark? I can't find pictures of anything like it.

It sounds very familiar to my oldest son's b-mark. Can you email me a picture?
