Smile Finally!

Hello,

This is my first post however I have been a member of the site for a little while. My daughter is almost a year old with 5 hemangiomas. She had 3 visible at birth and 2 more appeared when she was a few weeks old.

My husband and I have been to so many doctors in our city and we FINALLY found the right clinic! We have been given the "wait and see" approach for the last year however we were recently referred to the Vascular Birthmark Clinic in Calgary, Canada.

We saw Dr. Walker and she put my daughter on Propranolol. Today was her third day on the medication and we noticed that her hemangioma on her scalp is almost flat.

For anyone in the Alberta area I would definitely recommend this clinic. I am just disappointed that we were not able to go there sooner.

I have a few pictures but I need to figure out how to resize them first.

Hi and welcome!

So glad to hear good news! I suspect you emailed the listing to us as well. Thanks very much!

If you email photos to contact@birthmark.org I'll resize and attach them.

So glad to hear your daughter is finally getting treatment!! I don't know why, but it seems most Canadian Doctors do the "wait & see" apporch. With so many different treatment options out there now, they should be informing the parents asap instead of saying "wait & see." We having been waiting for 2 yrs now and if were told to wait & see at our next appointment were heading to the states to get surgery for our son who has a facial H.
So happy for you & little girl!!!
