Default Is this ulceration??

Just wondering if anyone can tell me if this is the beginning of ulceration?! Sophie is 7 months old and has been on propranolol since she was about 8 weeks old I think it was. Since she's been on Propranolol the hemangioma has flattened a couple of times but then puffed up again but nothing like it would have if she hadn't been on the medication I think. She has recently developed scabby bits that are brownish red in colour and peeling a bit in places with more grey areas showing. She's not bothered at all by it. There is no yellow or black or sign of infection. Her doctor is away at the moment and I can't see her till August the 8th. Should I be worried?? Thanks! Kate

I can only say that when other parents describe ulceration, it seems to happen very fast. They don't have the time to write in and record the changes .... it is very sudden. Perhaps those that progress more slowly don't write in, though. I'll just say I'm ignorant on that subject and leave it at that.

I'd send a photo to Dr. Levitin and ask him. http://birthmark.org/node/152 You can send that photo to him and he usually gets back in touch quickly.
