Regrowth at 16 mos old?

Hi everyone,
Wondering if anyone has experienced what is going on with our daughter. She had 3 hemangiomas (scalp, arm and ear). She had the scalp and arm ones removed when she was 9 mos old. The one on her ear stopped growing when she was 4-5 mos old and has since looked grayer and somewhat flatter. However, this week we noticed a bright red color appearing around one edge of the otherwise graying hemangioma. We are worried that this is regrowth. Is this possible after 12 months of what we thought was involution?

Probably not regrowth...but I have a couple questions. Was she at any time on oral steroids? Is is possible the area was injured?

I am leaving town for a few days, so if I miss your reply I am sory. I will try to check if I can get connected from another computer.

She was on steroids for only one week at 8 mos old. I noticed her pulling on her ear a few days ago, I suppose maybe she could have scratched it. The red area does not look bloody or scabby, though, just that bright red color. It stands out quite a bit against the gray of the main part.

Can you post a picture? Steroids can sometimes delay growth. I'm not sure if this would apply to such a brief use of them however.
