Are Vascular Malformations Hereditary?

Sorry to have posted soo much today. I've just been thinking maybe I'm jumping to conclusions I don't know, anyways my son just turned 1 yesterday (woo hoo) since the day he was born he has had a blue streak going from the corner of his left eye that branches off into two and goes across the bridge of his nose?!? The doc said oh its just a split vein but I can't help but wonder I would NEVER want him to go through what I've been through. Is it possible or am I just being an over protective mother does anyone know I would greatly appreciate any input on this matter. THANK YOU!

I have never found anything that says that VM's are hereditary but I also have not seen anything that says they are not. If you are worried about it, get it checked be a vascular anomalies specialist. Dr. Linda Shannon (founder of VBF) told me that God gave us mother's intuition for a reason! Hope you get answers soon!

Thank you for your response you are right I'm a first time mom and I learned quick about the whole "mothers intuition" deal!! He goes for his 12month wellness visit in the morning I'll ask them one more time what they think then I'll take matters into my own hands. Thanks Again!!!
