Default H on scalp, not to worry?

My 2 month old daughter has a hemangioma on the left side of her head(scalp) and a small one of the back of her neck. Neither one of them were present at birth. The one on her head started off as pea-sized and now it is a little larger than a quarter. We have been to a pediatric dermatologist and a plastic surgeon, and they both recommend the "wait and see" approach. The plasic surgeon said they don't even consider surgery until a child is 3 years of age. So I'm wondering how some of you were able to get your child's H surgically removed at such a young age? I'm in Dallas, TX and the doctors we saw were from the list of providers on this website.

Hello,
My son has 8 H's, 2 of which are on his scalp. We didn't really feel comfortable with the wait and see approach. We went to see Dr Buckmiller at Arkansas Children's Hospital in April of this year when he was 4 months old. She was recommended by Dr Waner since she was closer to us. She has already done 2 laser treatments on some of them and we are scheduled for removal of the larger one on his scalp and 2 others in October. His surgery will be 10 days before his 1st birthday.

You have to do what you are comfortable with in the end. I would talk to a Vascular Anomolies specialist if you aren't comfortable with what your Dr's are saying.
