Vaseline on hemangiomas with skin component
Great news, very happy for you!
I am in Europe and we were advised by the specialists here to keep any hemangiomas with skin component "greasy" as the skin with hemangioma may become very dry (sebaceous glands not working correctly on the part of skin covered by hemangioma) and thus lead to ulceration more easily. We were told this does not guarantee prevention of ulceration in 100% of cases though (some hemangiomas grow so quickly that they will ulcerate anyway). We are putting vaseline on the hemangioma a couple of times a day (whenever it seems dry or flaky) and our daughter's hemangioma did not ulcerate (she is 5 months old now, so normally the quick growth phase is over and the risk of ulceration is diminished).
