hello my name is robin i have a 6 month old daughter marcella she was 2 months early and only weighted 2 lbs 11 ozs when she was born , her weight was so low because i didnt know i was pregnant until 2 weeks before i had her. my daughter has 5 hemanagolmias(?) 1 one on her head,1 on her neck , 1 on her tummy, and 2 on her back. they already had to laser the one on her upper back cause it started bleeding. i feel so bad becuase i feel like i didnt something wrong for her to have them since i didnt have any prenatal care with marcella. her dr keeps saying that they will go away as she grows up , but im worried the she will get teaesed and bullied for them people already stare at her becasue of them .
am i just going crazy or should i say just take them off?????

First off don't blame yourself! Hemangiomas are not caused by anything a mother does!!! They are just one of those anomolies that happen in the complicated process of a developing fetus.

Speak to an expert in the field or a few that way you can make an informed choice.

Hi Robin!
You didn't do anything to cause your daughter's hemangiomas!! I have 4 daughters and 3 of them have hemangiomas....all my pregnancies were different, 2 of them are twins, some preemie, some not...but for some reason we ended up with a few hemangiomas in our family.

I just wanted to mention that it might be a good idea to see a vascular anomalies specialist since she has 5 hemangiomas. I think I have read that they like to make sure there are none internally when a child has multiple hemangiomas on their skin. I hope your daughter is doing well besides the hemangiomas. That must have been very scary to have her be so premature and so tiny!

you didn't do anything "wrong!" i agree that you should seek a vascular anomalies specialist to rule out any internal hemangiomas. my daughter has several as well, and they did find one on the back of her tongue. she is almost 10 months old and doing great with the help of propranolol. best wishes to you and your family. :-)
