Sorry for Repost, Beter pic. Is this the start of Hemangioma?

My son has had this "mark" since he was a day old. His ped isnt sure what it is- From Blocked tear duct to Hemangioma. Im worried because of the location of the "bump".
If i touch the area my sons eye tears up alot, and the puffyness goes down quit a bit thats why it makes me think its a Blocked tear duct, but then that doesnt explain the blue-purple tint in the inner corner of his left eye.
Any ideas?

I didn't even notice anything by the eye. I saw the "stork bite" under his nose but nothing by the eye. Has he seen a pediatric ophthalmologist to check for a blocked tear duct? 90 % of blocked tear ducts resolve on their own by the time the child reaches one year old so that is reassuring.

after a closer look I see what you are talking about. I would just ask for a referral to the Ped. Ophthalmologist just for a closer look. It can't hurt.

Kind of looks like my son's hemangioma when it started out but like the prior post I would suggest seeing a pediatric opthamologist because it is right where swelling of a blocked tear duct occurs. Try not to worry about it, easier said that done of course. If it is a hemangioma their is lots of options which I learnt from the whole process.

My daughter's hemangioma started out similar to that but directly straight above where your son's is. Her is above the eye on the eyebrow. She also had a blocked tear duct in the same eye so her pedi sent her to a ped. opthamologist who in turn sent her for an MRI. Of course the blocked tear duct and the hemangioma were unrelated but we were unsure of that in the beginning.

as said earlier go to a pediatric opthamologist. my little girls started out looking "similar" and it was right above the eye in the same spot where your son's is, but at the top not the bottom. We too...had the same thing about the blocked tear duct thing...we thought our daughter had it and took her to the pedi and he was literally baffled. the bump also did the swelling and not swelling thing to when pushed on it. check out my site if you want, it might help you. Go clear to the beginning. Here we found out later that it was two seperate issues...she did have a little bit of "gunk" in her eye but she also had a hemangioma. He's adorable by the way.
