Urgent Help Needed!

I am so frustrated right now, I am getting nowhere with a doctor, finally spoke with today, I called during lunchtime. Anyway he said my vm runs from elbow to wrist, and to leave it alone :-[ which I cannot due because of pain,intense swelling and on my dominant hand, cannot go to work.
Doc, said he was going to call Dr.Yakes, from the impression I got he didn't said I should have another MRI from elbow to wrist. Can I contact Dr.Yakes on my own??? or do I need a referral from a doctor, I cannot just leave this untreated...cannot move my hand at all.... :'(

I agree with Jinny. Call Dr. Yakes office and find out if you need a referrel. And if yes, you could probably get the referrel from a primary care physician...and just leave the specialist that will not help you. It also depends on your insurance... ask Dr. Yakes office what path you need to take to insure coverage.
