Default Cost of PWS laser treatment?

Hi,
does anybody have even a rough idea how much a laser treatment session of a PWS for an infant can cost? Our daughter has a PWS that covers a good part of the right half of her forehead, including the upper right eyelid. According to the doctor, the treatment needs to be done using GA.

We may have an insurance issue due to a preexisting conditions clause, and I'd like to know what I need to be prepared to pay.
Even information on a rough magnitude would be really helpful to me, just for orientation.

Thanks a lot for your help!

The cost depends on which doctor, hopstial, etc. I have seen what other people pay and I know how much it cost b/c my son gets them every six weeks. The price can vary from $3000 to $8000 a treatment. how you is your child? why would they consider it a preexisting condition? If you have more questions please ask.

Oh I forgot to ask Have you started getting glaucoma checks for the invovled eye???? With the eye invovlement the child does run a risk of developing it.

Hi,
thanks for your response.
The reason it may become a pre-existing condition is because I may have to change employers, state, and therefore insurance.
As I understand, under these circumstances, I can't just continue as member of my existing insurance.

We have already checked regularly with a pediatric eye specialist, and it seems her eyes are fine so far. Fingers crossed, it will stay this way.

Thanks again...

If you have a letter of creditable coverage from your present insurance they usually can't put it as pre-existing condition. We just had to change insurance companies due to a change in jobs and they didn't give me a problem since I had the letter. My son has SWS and PWS. You might find some more info out at http://www.cms.hhs.gov/hipaa/hipaa1/default.asp I hope that this helps you out.

PS- I'm happy to hear that her pressures are fine

Altho , Addie's treatments are covered by insurance due the CPT code used for KT diagnosis, we pay a $250 deductible and $9 co-pay.

the return EOB's. I receive show the rate of about $2100.00 and then adjusted to about 1/2 price when the claim is recognized "in network".

Addie averages about 150 - 200 pulses per session.

Hope this helps.
