I need help finding Pediatric Dr. in Orlando-FL

I'm new to the site and have a 6 week old son who was born with a PWS on his right cheek, it is about 1inch in size and want to seek the advise of an experience Dr. in Orlando, Florida.* Does anyone have any experience with a Dr. in the area.* I appreciate any help you can give me.

Hi Gloria,

Welcome to the foundation, My name is Hank and I am 22 years old with PWS on face and different places on my head.

On the front page of this website, if you go into resources and look at finding physicians, and then to FL or a state close to you, and find a doctor that specializes in PWS.

The V-Beam Pulse Dye Laser is a popular laser used by dermatologist. I have used it myself and it is very fast and does not hurt as much as the older lasers that I have used in my 14 years of laser treatment.
This laser is good because it is safe on infants, and does not scar at all.

If you want more info on this laser I can tell you.
If you can not find a doctor from this website, call a couple of Dermatologist in your area and ask them if they use this laser.

I have not used him personally but I have heard very good things about Dr.Albert Nemeth. He is in Clearwater Florida.

Thank you both for the very helpful information.
I now need to find a Dr. in my area that is willing to treat a baby this young, Dr. Gregory whom I found on this site will not treat at this age, because he says baby's this young can not tell you weather the numbing medication has worked or not. I will contact Dr. Nemeth and gather as much information as possible.

Hi Gloria,

I am suprised in that Dr that said your son is to young for treatment. I have heard other people that have had surgery done when their child was your sons age. I guess he is not into treating infants.

But I highly recommend seeing that other doctor, the last thing you want to do is to put it off. You do not want your son to go thru what I did growing up with PWS. It was brutal. Still to this day it can be very painful the way people point, stare, and laugh. Better your son have no memory of his PWS as he grows up, until he is old enough to understand what he had.
