Help with findind doctor...

My son has a port wine stain on his upper face. We found a doctor here in Nevada who was going to do the laser removal surgery for our son. The dr already recieved a pre authorization from our insurance. The bad news is that the laser broke and the doctor nor the hospital are going to fix the machine any time soon... I need to find a doctor but there are no other doctors here in Nevada. If i go out of state, will my insurance still cover?!! Any advice?!

Hi and welcome to the group. It depends on our insurance if they will cover out of state. However, if you can prove that that there is no one that can take care of your child there the in most, not all, they will cover with out any problems. If they deny it then you could always appeal. There are some good letters to help fight insurance companies.

Where are you considering going out of state? How old is your son? Does it cover the or go near his eye?

Welcome to the site.

What part of NV do you live in? I went to college in Carson City, and had laser treatment in Reno.

If Reno is to far for you I might be able to find one in Las Vages.
