Lasting Laser Therapy of Port Wine Stains

My son is getting treated with the candela v-beam with cooling jets. It seems to be good. Have you tried birthmarks.com ? It's a support group for pwser's and parents of pwsers. I have found it very informative. I wish that i could help you more.

Welcome to the support group. Where are you fro?
Maybe I can help and suggest a few doctors w/ up to date lasers to help. I am on another support list ( www.birthmarks.com).I 'd be glad to do some archive reading there for you.

My daughter,Addie, is 15 with PWS on her complete left torso to her toes. Some days it's darker than others. She does not get laser tx for the PWS , she doesn't seem to care if "it's gone".. IF she did pursue tx, it would be a long process..

She does have some mild laser tx for the sub-cutaneous veins and the vascular issues she also deal with. This is called KT syndrome ( stands for Klippell - Trenauney , just some doctors names...) the laser settings are only about 1/2 strength ...

Addie wears a compression stocking for this issue. Of course , she doesn't wear it to my satisfaction, but she'll learn the hard way. the laser tx she has been getting has helped with her vascular pains tremendouly.

My son has had 17 laser surgeries on his port wine birthmark. He is 4 years old; it's good to know that it is goign to be done some day and that he is not going to need surgeries for the rest of his life. His birth mark is on the left side of his face.
Does your doctor accepts new patients?
