I have an 11 week old daughter. she has a H next to her right eye. I had something called "fetal maternal hemoraging" which is where the baby loses blood through the umbilical cord or placenta into the mother's bloodstream. she was born at 35 weeks and i had to have an emergency c-section and she ended up having a blood transfusion. not sure if they still have my placenta or not... i could call and ask?

my daughter has a large hemangioma on her right shoulder and was born 4-5 weeks early. i remember them examining my placenta, but they never told me anything. should i assume that everything was ok, or should i call the obgyn and see if they had it sent off for testing?

My daughter was delivered via c-section 4 days late, weighing over 10 pounds and she has hemangiomas. They said my placenta weighed more than 3 pounds which isn't normal for one baby. Anyway, I believe they sent it to pathology because I revceived a bill for it. Could this be connected?

Default bleed during preg. baby girl with h

I had a lot of complications during my pregnancy. I bleed and they told me to go on bed rest this was in my 2nd tri-mester. They never told me why I bleed. I am not sure if they knew why. I now have a beautiful baby girl who was born on time (2-21-08, 6 lbs) she is now 6 months. At about 2 weeks she got a little red spot by her right eyebrow. It has since grown and is very red and quite raised. I am going to have a consult next week, but I am VERY nervous. My baby was also born with a heart murmer and not sure if surgery would even be an option for her? I don't even know if she still has the murmer or not. I also have a 4 year old boy who has Autism that is moderate. He won't go near baby sister he stares at her h & makes a face.

My water broke and I was induced with pitocin. My ob did not mentioned any abnormalities with my placenta, however, my daughter is 2.5 weeks early and she has an H on his right nostril.

My son is almost 8 weeks. we noticed his hemangioma on his cheek next to his ear when he was about 2 weeks. It has grown rapidly since, from a small lump to a ping pong ball.
I had no complications during pregnancy or birth. I had him 1 week early via c-section. Went in for induction, ended up with a c-section after a failed inducement. The only off thing with my pregnancy was the extraordinary edema throughout. My blood pressure only shot up the last week which is why they went to induce. No problems with placenta as far as I am aware. I had an ultra-sound at the specialist 2 weeks prior to birth. There was no breakage in the placenta and it still had plenty of "time" before the baby needed to come out due to the placenta.
We are getting the "wait and see" from the doctor but instead are going to San Diego Rady Childrens Hospital to have it checked by a specialist to make sure.

My daughter has two facial strawberry hemangiomas and while I was not given any reason for it with regards to my placenta, in my two previous pregnancies I had partial placental abruption which leads me to think I might have problems with my placenta (s) in general.

not sure how to use this as i'm new to this site,, please dont think me alarming but if you can, go for the more drastice approach. i'm a 37 year old male with the worst hemanjima i've ever seen covering my body and it DID cover my face to the extent that it disfigard my nose, eye, jaw, and lips with the heavy weight over the years. I had surgery from the age of around six months at Gt Ormond St hospital in London were they injected me with salin salt, tried scrapping parts out, end with taking a muscle from my leg and putting it in my face just to see if they could get me to smile!! i went through years of this (16) to end up looking only slightly better but with bad memories. then I canme across a Mr Poole in Oxford, he believed the only way was to cut this out totally. he placed two bags under my skin, streched the skin and peform three skin graphs. I just wish they new about that in the seventys! which ever option you take your child will be fine with it,, birthmarks are not like going blind in teenage years,, its a part of you like have big ears or a big nose!! and believe me they will have freinds, i have a wife and two very healthy boys now,, just try not to treat him/her differnt, dont make allowences for them, and if someone stares there only staring because they may not no what is wrong. good luke your be cool. (sorry for the spelling)!!

Default Propranolol (Beta blocker) for Hemangioma?

I have a 12-month-old daughter whose large nasal tip H was surgically removed three months ago. We just went back from the 3-month post-op check-up and the doc says there is still a little swelling present so he is prescribing propranolol to "nudge it along" in terms of swelling reduction?

Anyone have experience with this or similar blood-pressure med in treatment of Hemangioma? What should we expect?
