My son has had similar treatment and had a similar hemangioma as in this video. These lasers do clear the hemangiomas... however, for PWS typically they can refill and darken again...so maintainence treatments are often required (for example annual treatment to help keep the fading stable).

I am concerned that this child was not put under general anethesia. (it doesnt have to be painful! and I would think this would scare some parents away. G.A> can't be used on all children and does have risks. However, for the size of the lesion and the location we've been advised to have our son under ga. each time. He did very well (8 total txs) to reduce his hemangioma to almost gone. If you'd like to see pictures let me know.

Also, the video didn't go into the medical reasons to do laser for these types of lesions. Our son has avoided atrophies skin and reconstructive surgery.
THey don't give the actual name of this laser used..but I would assume it is a v-beam

Thumbs up yup it's true but...

Hello:
well, that's miracle machine is the Vbeam, actually the gold standard procedure for a PWS. By the way you can see the DCD -cooling device- working before any shot. Yup, the results are just amazing, but remember one thing, it can appear at any age again. The laser just "bleaches" the superficial vessels, but remember that in the whole human body vessel uses to appear and disappear, that's the reason why a long time ago we used to hear "calm down! We'll wait, 'cuz it can disappear". The laser procedure is the real solution? nope, but it gives an amazing result that can last. Remember at any kind of sign or small red spot that appears again, just call for another laser therapy.
Actually the newest machine on the neighborhood is the Cynergy Workstation with multiplex, i have asked to Cynosure for more information, but the colleagues who has tried the machine showed me amazing results. The most important without any kind of bad sensation or pain, but just indicated for adults only.
Best regards.
Raul
