Default new to this site, worried about 7 mo old daughter

Hello,

Your Son is so cute! He has healed so well for just a week! My Daughter Lilli has a H on her face that looks a lot like the one your Son had. Lilli's is by her left eyebrow. I think it may be a bit smaller but it seems like it is still growing? Like most of the posters here I was told to wait and see by my pediatrician. After doing some searching on line, I went and saw a specialist in my area. Herecomended an excision because it is so raised and because of where it is. Today I had Lilli's well baby check and the Ped. seemed alarmed by how big her H had grown since the last time she had seen her. Before I told her I saw a specialist, she told me that she thought I should see one and make sure it isn't deep and maybe affecting her brain!? I guess because her H is in her "midline" she is worried about it..? Has anyone been told this? She wants me to go to LA to see someone at CHLA that will do an MRI and also the excision. I already have someone that is highly certified in my area that belongs to the same hospital just different location called CHOC. CHLA is in Los Angeles and CHOC is children's hospital of Orange County, CA. Her Ped. told me that CHLA is better and I should get a 2nd opinion there. I told her I would do that.. I am just worried now because I never thought it could be in her brain too. I am so scared now. Here is a pic of Lilli so you can see her H and where it is. BTW I did e-mail Dr. Waner weeks ago & no reply. I am sure he is busy. If anyone can help me please e-mail me at jamieshortes@yahoo.com
Thank you

Hey, don't panic and don't start thinking the worst without proper information.

Your doctor should of never told you that this could affect your little one's
brain without proper diagnosis, in my opinion that's so poor of him/her.

We were also worried and were told not to worry because of the location of the H, however after surgery they did perform a biopsy on the H witch come back all clear.

My advise would be to seek as many opinions as you possibly can.

If anything have a read of our story and this could possibly prep you for
what you can expect, going through something like this isn't easy.

btw, your daughter is very cute......

Happy to keep the communication channels open, keep in touch.

Default RE: Help on thoughts on birthmark

Just a interesting point which I thought I would share.

Recently we went to our local GP as our little one developed a cold and we thought we would just check him out. It was interesting to see her reaction.
She couldn't believe that we went through with the operation she seemed a little disappointed, totally confused us.

I asked her why she seemed disappointed, she stated that most parents take the wait and see approach, I replied by saying "obviously we didn't", and we are very happy with the outcome, she then changed her tone a little.

Anyhow, thought I would share that with ya all.

Smile RE: Help on thoughts on birthmark

We had our 3 month post checkup yesterday (25/11/2008) and the
surgeon was very happy with the healing progress, so much so that
we don't have to go back again.

If anyone wants contact details for this surgeon, we would be more than
happy to pass them on.

Baby Alexandros update picture attached, again thanks to all who replied to this post.

If you could email me the contact information for your surgeon, I wil check it out and have it listed on find a physician. We will need to have permission from the surgeon to list them.
