hemangioma in foot

My 6 month old daughter was recently diagnosed with a capillary hemangioma in her foot. It was difficult to diagnose due to the location and the fact that it is under the skin. I just wanted to know if anyone has had similiar experiences, especially hemangiomas located in the foot. I have so many questions and feel that it is difficult to find answers since her condition differs greatly from the typical hemangioma.

My son who is now 22 was also diagnosed with a hemangioma in his foot when he was little and the diagnosis was incorrect. He had an AVM. I do feel like the delay in the diagnosis impeded his health.

You need to find a specialist in the field of Vascular medicine to find out treatment options. There are wonderful doctors and the internet is a great tool for research. At least, you will find others experiencing the circumstances as you and your child and learn options available to you.

Thanks for responding! We have been told that her "h" could be a lymphatic malformation. She is almost a year old and we are still searching for answers. She had a biopsy done at 4 1/2 months. We are waiting for a 2nd MRI since the first one was done without contrast. Right now, we are having trouble finding shoes. Any advice there?
