New Baby, New Member
Greetings all,
Our first child, Teagan (hence the screen name) was born on November 25, 2008. At birth, she had what appeared to be a bruise near her right temple and eyelid. At first, my wife and I thought it was just a bruise, and actually disagreed with the hospital diagnosis of a hemangioma. (My wife's cousin has a hemangioma, and this looked nothing like that.)
Within a week or two, the color began to turn more red than it had. There has been no noticeable involution as of yet, but today my wife found information on capillary hemangiomas, and after reading as much as we could find, we're convinced this is what Teagan has.
We have an appointment with a pediatric opthamalogist in a few more weeks, as well as another well-baby checkup with the pediatrician next week. We plan on speaking to these two physicians about the possibility of this lesion being a capillary hemangioma, and looking into our options as far as getting her examined by one of the specialists in our area.
I just wanted to stop in to introduce myself. I hope that as I learn more about VB's, I'll be of some assistance.
Take care,
Scott
