Okay first off I had noticed a red area on the back of Madelyns head when she was a few weeks(like 4wks) and at her 2month well I asked the dr and she said it was a stork bite and would go away. Well it is raised and VERY red not like my son who had actual stork bites.
So do you think it is a H? And I am curious about it affecting her hair growth. I am unsure what to do. I am going to bring it back up to my dr and see what she says but as everyone else has been told I will probably have to wait. I just dont want to wait too long and it mess her hair growth up back there.
I definitely no expert, but that doesn't look like a stork bite to me. Both of my kids had them and they were never that dark, and definitely not raised. I would recommend going to see a pediatric dermatologist. Good luck.
looks like a h to me. but if shes already two months old and its not raised more than that, chances are it might not get that big. usually they start growing rapidly within the first few weeks of a childs life and stop growing around a year old. i would keep an eye on it, and see a vascular specialist. most ped dermatologist are not specialist with vascular birthmarks.
My son has 2 hemangiomas on his tummy that look just like your daughter's. He has had them ince birth and is a year old now and they haven't grown any larger. I hope this helps.
Sorry about not updating....Madelyn is now 6 months old and it has not grown a lot to me....just got darker red. I will post pictures when I get them uploaded.
