Will you share your cost of removal?

My daughter had her two H's removed in December. One was an ulcerated H on her scalp, and the other was a much smaller H on the back of her neck. The surgeon was an approved in-network provider, and we have an 80/20 plan. In the end, it looks like we will be paying nearly $6000 (reaching our maximum out of pocket limit). The hospital bill was nearly $15,000 and the surgeon's bill was another $15,000. I'm surprised by the hospital charges. My daughter's surgery only took about 45 mintues, and she was in recovery for only an hour. I can't believe the hospital bill was so much, considering she was in their care for less than 2 hours. Is this typical?

my daughters surgery took over 3 hours and the total cost was 15000 and we even stayed one night. she had a large h removed from her arm and a small one from the back of her neck. after insurance our bill was around 6000 and then we applied for financial assistance with the hospital and were approved for payment of 75%. our final bill was only 400!
