H in siblings?

Hi,
My daughter has a deep hemangioma on her chest and I am currently pregant with my second child. She is nearly 2 years old and it is about 3 cm diameter under the skin. The very small surface component has gone. It just looks like now she has a big lump under her skin. I am not sure when deep H usually involute??

I was wondering if anyone knows if I am more likely to have another child with a H? Does it run in families? Are there any known causes? once had a alternative Dr tell me it's due to excess copper but I haven't found anything about that anywhere. Sounded a bit weird to me.

Everything I've read says there's no reason to believe that they are hereditary. They are much more likely to occur in girls.

Despite both those things, my two boys each have one.

This is often a topic of concern. During the q and a session at the 2007 Irivine Calf. conference our hemangioma experts addressed this question. The basic answer was that the studies have not found hereditary connection in families; however from the collective experience of our panel... they have seen trends in a small % of families. The trend would include all types of vasuclar malformations and tumors. One specialist estimated that if the common population had a 10% chance of hemangioma occurance, families with other previous cases may have closer to 20% chance. This was just an estimate based on the cases the specialist had seen over many years of practice and research. It was also agreed upon among the panel that in a situation where two siblings have hemangiomas, one tends to be much less serious than the other.

im not sure about siblings since i only have one child with my husband, but i do know that in his family, his nephew, two cousins on his fathers side have them and two on his mothers side. our daughter had two when she was born. a rather large h on her shoulder and a smaller one on her neck.
