Question awareness

I just was wondering, if the hemangioma and vascular birthmark awareness color is burgundy, why are the bracelets that are available blue?

Jessica:

Another foundation/group uses burgundy bracelets for their awareness campaign (Well - really, I know at least 3 groups that use the burgundy birthmark bracelets).

But since the VBF logo colors are teal/blue, this is what we use.

Actually, the bracelets were designed a few years ago for our very first "VBF Day of Awareness" as an awareness fundraiser by Saige Cavayero. She chose the colors and the slogan (Courage - Confidence). Saige had extensive facial hemangioma as a child, and scarring as a result. She has undergone several surgeries. She is now in college and is a beautiful and accomplished young woman. Saige also serves on the board as the Student Representative for VBF. In her honor, VBF has carried on the tradition of the teal-blue bracelets for the adult size, and the blue/white swirl for the kids (these colors match the "VBF Kids Who Care" logo colors). All the VBF bracelets are embossed on the inside with "Inspired by Saige Cavayero", as a tribute to her dedication and support for people of all ages with vascular birthmarks.
