When is it considered stable?

My second daughter was born with a birthmark on her nose tip. Her nose tip is also quite bulbous. We were concerned that it was a H (like her older sister has), however, the mark remains, the nose is still bulbous but it has not grown. She is now 3 months old. Are we out of the woods? Is it just a different kind of birthmark? (I know my other daughter's H was growing rapidly by this stage). Also, could it be a compound/deep H just under the surface and thus the reason it is bulbous? We still have an appointment with a specialist (it is months away). My family doc just shrugs and says it is a birthmark but not a H.

I would get a second opinion about it, and try to get in with a specialist earlier. You need a better diagnosis than <<shrug>>

Yes, I agree. I am pushing to get in sooner too. My doc assumes that if it hasn't grown by now, it's not going to and therefore it may not be a H at all (according to the doc). I am not sure if that part is right or not? How late can a H start growing rapidly?
