Default Special sun care required?!?!

Are there any special precautions to take with respect to sun screen? We're in Canada so our "summer" months are somewhat limited - now that my son is 2 we're letting him have some sun exposure (I was paranoid for the first year and kept him in the shade).

Is the SPF 50 standard sunscreen okay to use on the hemangioma's as well (we currently use Neutrogena Pure and Free baby sunscreen) or should I be purchasing something different / stronger to apply directly to the hemangiomas?

any suggestions?

thanks,

Kaylan

I would think spf 50 wold be fine. Perhaps a wide-brimmed hat. Since he has one on his arm, perhaps a long sleeved shirt if you know you are going to be outside for a long time.

Yes, minimize sun exposure the best you can expecially if you are having laser treatments. I covered my son's hemangioma with spf 50.,
also a hat.
