I have a question re pws and behavior and learning disabilities...

Good morning everyone!! has anyone had an issue with behavior and or learning troubles that has pws?? my daughter is really struggling in school with math and just cant seem to grasp it. i have tried many, many diffrent things with her, i even went to her school and asked for them to do testing on her to see if she has a learning disablity but they didnt want to do anything yet because shes only in 2nd grade?!?!?!? i di see her struggling and it frustates me also.. any suggestions??

I would insist on testing. I was a special education teacher and the earlier you start working with struggling kids the better.

oh i'm an angel behavior wise but yes math is a huge embrassing problem for me as far as i can remember. i still struggle with very simple math.i developed a feeling of fear. i would start to shake when i new my teacher would pick me to go in front the class to solve a problem. didn't help my father slapped me across the face once when i got a sum wrong. I do have trouble understanding things in general but maths is definitely the worse.

It isn't up to the school to "OK" testing. IDEA provides that parents can initiate testing for learning disabilities.

They cannot NOT test her if you, her parent, want her tested.

thanks everyone for oyur advise, i am definatly going to look into testing cause i can feel it in my heart she does have an issue...thanks again everyone!! oh does anyone have facebook? we do and i have lots of picts of my baby girl and so on, i would really like for her to see shes not the only one, if possible.. if you look me up i am holly rivera... thank you~!
