Propranolol causes diabetes!

Hi there, I am new here and looking into using Propranolol for my 6 week old's forehead hemangiona. Have just seen there is a link to diabetes and this worries me. Does anyone have more info on this please?

Do you have any links to other articles? This one says that those patients were taking Atenolol and a diuretic. The article doesn't say the length of time they were on these drugs either.

I'd love to read more about this, though.

My Daughter has been on propanonal for a week now and the size of her hemangiona has greatly decreased.

I know we shared emails already. I would consider getting opinion on laser treatment. Is the hemangioma primarily superficial (red) vs. a deep portion?

It says "over 30 years" and I am sincerely hoping our babies do not have to take this medication that long. I also did not see it mention propranolol by name. Maybe I missed something?

I know while taking propanolol my daughter had to have weekly visits to the pedi's office for checking her sugar, etc. She never had any problems thus far. I know it can "lower" your sugar and you have to watch for that but I've never heard of it being linked "to" diabetics.
