new here- 3 month old with congenital hemangioma

hello all i have a 3 month old with a congenital hemangioma on his left arm between his shoulder and elbow. no one had noticed it on any of the sonograms until he was born. it was quit big in size right after he was born but went down a bit a couple of days later and has been the same size since. it seems to be growing as my son grows. we meet about every month with cardiology doctors and plastic surgeons at childrens hospital in pittsburgh but they want to watch it to see if its going to go away on its own or not. Im here to get more information on hemangiomas because the research that im getting from the internet doesnt really tell much except that it may go away on its own but i want to know when and what questions should i be asking the doctors at my appointments.

A couple things come to mind when reading your description. First it appeared to be what sounded like a rapidly involuting congenital hemangioma, but now that you are seeing it grow with him, I would highly recommend that you talk with a hemangioma/vascular malformation expert. he does have an appointment at pediatric plastic surgery at childrens hospital in pittsburgh this week hopefully they will give us more information on what will be done and im also going to email Dr. Leviton thanks.
