New treatment options?

Hey everyone,

I am 25 years old and have a port wine stain on my cheek. I have been getting regular treatments for the last 3 years with the Q-Switched Yag Laser: Continuum MedLite IV Laser System.

Although I have seen improvement from the time I started treatment, it is not where I was hoping it would be at this point. Maybe I was too optimistic, but that's just me. I have also noticed it getting bumpier over time.

That being said, I always make it a point to go on "google scholar" and research studies testing out other technologies. There been a lot of positive feedback around the results given by Photodynamic therapy treatment of port wine stain, currently used in China.

I know Dr. Nelson has a bunch of studies lined up, hopefully with promising results, but was wondering if anyone else knew of any studies being conducted on new technologies or any other treatment options regarding port wine stain.

I'd be interested to look into this also. I'm a 25 year old college student, also disappointed with the current treatment options. Let us know what you find out. I'd probably be interested in participating in any kind of clinical trials that were available.

I'm just getting back into getting some treatments done. What are some of the current best lasers available?

The one my olde Dr used wasn't very affective, tho I forget what he used & don't have my records to hand right now.
