Default Surgery date set

Scarlett's surgery date is set for June 8th at 7:30 in New YorK with Dr. Levitin. That is 2 weeks before she turns 2. They didn't say what hopsital or where, so I have yet to book a flight or a room for us. I'm hoping I can get a hotel that is close to where it is being done, but I know nothing about New York, I live in Kansas. All our extra money is going into this trip so I'm hoping I can get a decent hotel price.

Hi,
This is Sally. In another thread you asked me what hotel I used when Dr Levitin did my daughter's surgery. However, we did the surgery in Los Angeles (Dr L has practices in three different cities I think). So unfortunately I'm no help here. Maybe his office staff can recommend some place. Also, if you aren't already familiar, priceline.com is a GREAT way to get good hotel deals. I usually see what prices are offered on hotwire.com, then I bid 30% less on priceline and see if there are any takers. If not, you can re-bid every 24 hours. I've gotten lots of good hotel deals that way when I travel..

Yeah I'm not much of a traveler, but I will check those out. I like to get things set so I'm trying to look up things now and I asked about hotels, but I don't want to stay at some creepy place. We were going to do it in California too, but my insurance would only apporove New York. Strange, but at least it go approved.

Okay that is not far from Beth Israel and the Soho area. I would first call Beth Israel Hospital and see if they recommend any hotels near the area. How many days are you staying?

Then I would probably just go online and punch in the location and see what hotels come up, etc. That is the best way to find a deal. The beginning of June should not be too bad for pricing.

Make sure you know which hospital first, Dr. L does surgeries out of two hospitals I believe. If you need help finding out, let me know.
