Hi! My daughter didn't have a lower lip hemangioma but she an upper lip and she had surgery on it almost 2 years ago. She is almost 7 now. The reason for her surgery is the same as what you mentioned...she had a diver/scar from an ulceration she had when she was 2 months old. We really wanted to do the surgery before going to Kindergarten and we were happy with that decision. Since she is already going to be having surgery, I think it seems like a good idea to do it now instead of waiting and having to do another surgery later. Her recovery went well and her lip looks great. Here is her album so you can see:

Let me know if you have any questions. We found one of the most challenging things was keeping her healthy before the surgery. Her original surgery date was on Feb. 1st and they had to cancel it because she had a bad cold. The same thing happened about 2 months later and then she finally had her surgery on June 1st. For me, that was VERY STRESSFUL. So if you can, try to keep her away from anyone sick for a few weeks before (I know that can be hard and sometimes impossible to prevent) but I think it's worth extra effort. Just my two cents! Good luck with everything!
