Very nervous scheudled daughter surgery

My daughter will be 3 in May and has to have a small Nevus sebaceous removed from her scalp and the surgeon recommended fixing the scar left from her lower lip H removed at the same time since is will already be under. I am so scared of having her get surgery.
I hope the swelling will go down before her birthday in May...we are having the surgery on Feb. 23rd since she needs to be out of the sun for about 4-5 weeks.

Does anyone have pictures of before and after surgery of lower lip H's. My daughter's lip ulcerated at 3 months and it left a little divet/scar in her lip that children already comment on. I think it looks great from what it did look like but the world is cruel and I know she will not remember the surgery now vs. if we waited.

Hi! My daughter didn't have a lower lip hemangioma but she an upper lip and she had surgery on it almost 2 years ago. She is almost 7 now. The reason for her surgery is the same as what you mentioned...she had a diver/scar from an ulceration she had when she was 2 months old. We really wanted to do the surgery before going to Kindergarten and we were happy with that decision. Since she is already going to be having surgery, I think it seems like a good idea to do it now instead of waiting and having to do another surgery later. Her recovery went well and her lip looks great. Here is her album so you can see:

Let me know if you have any questions. We found one of the most challenging things was keeping her healthy before the surgery. Her original surgery date was on Feb. 1st and they had to cancel it because she had a bad cold. The same thing happened about 2 months later and then she finally had her surgery on June 1st. For me, that was VERY STRESSFUL. So if you can, try to keep her away from anyone sick for a few weeks before (I know that can be hard and sometimes impossible to prevent) but I think it's worth extra effort. Just my two cents! I forgot to mention...that the swelling went down pretty quickly...I think it looked fairly normal by 2 weeks later and overall it looked the way it does now by 6-8 weeks later. I think she will be totally fine by her birthday!

thanks so much for getting back to me and for sharing the pictures of your beautiful daughter!
I was also thinking of trying to keep her healthy before the surgery and how I am going to do this because if it gets pushed back, I don't know if she will be healed for her birthday in May.
