Dr. ThompsonStevan H. Thompson, DDS, FAAOMP, is currently a staff oral and maxillofacial surgeon at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC.


In 2006, he completed a two year vascular anomaly surgical fellowship with Milton Waner, MD at the Vascular Birthmark Institute of NY in the Department of Otolaryngology at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center and Beth Israel Medical Center.


Dr. Thompson received his BS degree in Zoology from NC State University in Raleigh, NC in 1974, and his DDS degree from Emory University in Atlanta, GA in 1979. He completed an initial residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at the Emory University Health Sciences Campus and Grady Memorial Hospital in 1981. After practicing and teaching pathology at the University of the Witwatersrand, RSA, and in the US Army, he completed an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Dwight David Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Ft. Gordon, GA in 2004.


Dr. Thompson is a fellow of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. He is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
