VBF logo that celebrates 30 years

The Vascular Birthmarks Foundation (VBF) is celebrating its 30th Anniversary in 2024! Three decades ago, Linda Rozell-Shannon, Ph.D., created VBF to help families and individuals affected by a vascular birthmark, anomaly, and/or related syndrome (VBARS). Since then, we have become the leading not for profit in the world for children and adults affected by a vascular birthmark, such as a port wine stain or hemangioma.

Help us celebrate this milestone year by attending the 30th anniversary gala, making a donation to honor Dr. Linda, launching a fundraiser, and continuing to help spread awareness.

Honor Dr. Linda – Make a Donation to VBF

The VBF Board of Directors has created a special initiative to honor Dr. Linda for her decades of service, which will be announced at VBF’s 30th Anniversary Gala. They set a goal to raise money for the endowment celebrating VBF’s 30th anniversary in Dr. Linda’s honor. Gifts may be pledged and donated over a three-year period, if desired. Help Spread Awareness for #VBF30Years

The VBF Mission & Impact – What You Should Know. Since its inception in 1994, VBF has networked over 150,000 individuals into treatment, has organized more than 35 national and international free clinics, and educated both families and physicians regarding the current trends in diagnosing and treating vascular birthmarks. One in 10 babies is born with a VBARS. Many of them will have a vascular birthmark so significant they will need a medical specialty team. Part of VBF’s mission is to network these families to the appropriate medical professionals for evaluation and/or treatment, provide free resources, and support and empower those living with a vascular birthmark.  The VBF networks them into treatment and provides them with free resources to enable them to make the best treatment decisions.

Share VBF’s impact and stories. Through op-eds, letters to the editor, social media, or other communications channels, highlight the impact of the work VBF and Dr. Linda does in your community. Share videos, photos, and posts on social media about VBF or your own experience throughout the year to help encourage the next generation of individuals and families affected by a VBARS. You also can share your story on VBF here!

Brand your events. Brand your induction and graduation ceremonies, and other events as part of the 30th anniversary celebration. Look for guidance on how to use our special edition 30th anniversary wordmark in the communication resources. VBF can also help amplify your event. Be sure to register your event or fundraiser so we have the details.

Help inspire more to serve. Help us tell the VBF story and encourage more people to meet the urgent needs of those affected by a VBARS globally. Encourage someone to become a VBF Global Ambassador to help raise awareness and funds by joining us here.

Don’t forget to share your own personal experience, reflecting the profound impact VBF services, programs, and volunteers make to change and improve countless lives through the power of philanthropy. Stay up to date and follow along on VBF’s socials and look for the #VBF30Years hashtag for the latest on VBF’s 30th anniversary.
