Medicaid & Hemangioma removal
So today was Addison's appt with an Opthalmologist. She has two hemangiomas, one on her neck and the other on her eyelid. Well the dr doesn't want to do anything because she says it is not interferring with her vision. However, it is rather large and I so affraid of it ulcerating!

So I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any Dr's that will do laser removal with Medicaid in Florida? Her pedi keeps telling us to wait it out, but I dont want to risk it ulcerating or getting any larger! If not with Medicaid, does anyone know right off hand the price out of pocket??

my daughters removal surgery before insurance was 15 thousand dollars. keep in mind that medicaid and other insurance has to pay for it if its considered conginital, or was there at birth. its a matter of getting your dr to write it up that way when you go for your referral to a surgeon. also, hospitals offer financial assistance. find out how to apply if you can. we did and it paid for over 75% of the 4 thousand that we owed after insurance. the end bill was only 400! let me know if you need any help. my daughters site is below. you can read her story and see her photos.

Thanks very much for your response, but it was not congenital... So I'm not sure if it would be covered.

when did the hemangioma appear? was there a bruise or some dicoloration of the skin at birth or close to birth? also keep in mind that your dr can write it up as conginital and i fyour dr doesnt want to, i would get a second opion and more if needed.
