Grey spots after Vbeam treatment
Hello! My name is Jessica. I'm 30 years old with a fairly large port wine birthmark on my right cheek. I've had many laser treatments on it since I was around 8, but have not had any in the last 10 years or so. I had my first treatment with a new doctor yesterday afternoon.
The treatment went well.... it hurt, but it was tolerable. I had the dark purple bruising just as I remember. Lots of swelling too. What has me a little concerned is I noticed this morning that a few areas are turning a greyish color. What does this mean? It's been so long since my last treatment that I can't remember if that's normal or not.
I can try and attempt to post a picture if I can figure out how! :p
Any input would help!!
Thank you. :)
My son has a PWS on his face as well and has had treatment with the VBeam. My understanding is that the grey spots appear when the laser settings are more intense. These spots seem to be more vulnerable to dryness and possibly crusting. When this happens, we use extra Aquaphor and are very careful to avoid any contact. So far, all his grey spots have healed just as well as the rest of his face and sometimes even look better.
Good luck with your treatment. Hope this helps.
