My daughter needs support!
I'm reaching out for my 11 year old daughter. She was diagnosed with Glomangioma when she was 2. Since then she has had 9 laser treatments and reconstructive chin surgery. During the first few surgeries she blistered very badly on her cheek, I guess I should mention this covered half her face, still does. She unfortunately popped the blisters and they scarred her face. Along with the birthmark she has severe ADHD and anxiety disorder. Every day is a new day with my Alyssa. She is such a sweet girl and has such a caring heart. Being in middle school is such an awkward time and can be really tough on a kid. She has dealt with the mean comments pretty much her whole life and because of that she's pretty tough, but like anyone else, we reach our limits. I think she has reached hers. She is constantly picked on and we are dealing with that at her school. I need some type of support group for her where she knows she is not alone and can talk to other kids just like her. Is there anyone that can help me with this! I live in Texas Dallas/ Fort Worth. Please help me help my baby

Hi and welcome!

If you can't find someone her age for her to connect with, go to and write to Leslie, our developmental specialist.

Thank you, no one has responded yet and I have not had much luck. I will send her an email. Thank you again!

I have a daughter (although not the one I usually post about at this site) that has severe ADHD and anxiety disorder (with possible bipolar). I don't know if I can help you in any way but I am here if I can help!

this is a really late reply. SORRY !

what is your daughter good at ? what does she excell ? her hobbies ? i'd suggest to really dig into what she likes to help boast her confidence.

Also, its good to have a favorite place to be, even if its in her head. if that makes any sense. a place she can go to and just be her, chill out and gather herself. Once she understands she can't stay in that place

i wanna say it gets better but it doesn't. consuling sounds like a great idea also.
