I was born with a birthmark on my right toe. As a child I always went to an orthopedic since I was born with my right leg/foot bigger then my left. My orthopedic always told my mother that was a birthmark and not to worry. 3 years ago (at 27 years old) I had what started as a paper cut on my toe, I treated this with neosporin, one month later I saw a podiatrist who confirmed that was fungus and gave me medication by mouth. I saw a total of 7 doctors from primary, 2 podiatrist, 3 wound care specialist and one dermatologist. None which had a clue what was going on. In 2012 an ankle and foot surgeon took me in and recommended opening my toe and giving me a skin graft. He removed what he called a vascular tumor. It's been 1 year and 3 months, somewhere around 6 months after the surgery my doctors gave me
The go to plan for a child, I am currently 6 months pregnant with God knows what in my foot. I had an ultrasound done in my leg and was told I had vascular malformation but I need to wait until my baby is born to do an MRI and get to the root of the problem. All I know is the pain is unbearable, and it's deeper during cold weather. Once I have my MRI the doctors are telling me I might be sent to a vascular conference.
Hi and welcome!
You should probably ask our AVM expert via http://birthmark.org/experts.php
