Default Beckwith-Wiedemann St. Louis, MO

One of the doctors at the hospital I am involved is.. Dr. Jeffrey Marsch is doing a surgical procedure on a little girl from Cuba. She was born with Beckwith-Wiedemann Syndrome.(enlarged tongue). This doctor once headed the Cranio-facial Deformities Institue at Washington University and is now the director of the Cleft Palate Surgical Dep't at St. Johns Mercy Hospital. They are flying the little girl here to perfom this surgery. If this was left untreated the disease could cause deformity of the teeth and jaws, or worse, cancer in 6-8%. of children. Dr. Jeffrey Marsh and the hospital agreeded to do this surgery with NO COST to the parents and St. Johns Hospital is giving the family a place to stay.
