Nevus of Ota
Wow, I'm new to this site, and I didn't realize how many others have Nevus of Ota. It's kinda refreshing to see such similar life stories such as mine. I have only recently weaned away from wearing makeup to cover my birthmark. God put it there for a reason-- and sure, do I get tired of people asking me, "what happened"-- sure, but I look at my birthmark as being a tool in order to help kids, teens, and adults in their self-esteem. I've come to the realization that if I keep making it a point to hide my birthmark, it means that the haters win. I have so much work to do and kids who look up to me, that I can only be myself. How can I teach kids the importance of who God made them to be, if I haven't accepted it myself? If people don't like my birthmark, shame on them. You can't keep hiding who God created you to be, it's not fair to Him or the body of believers.
My makeup of choice was: L'Oreal True Match (C-6 for the winter, and C-7 for the summer)
