Default What kind of physician removes "coffee cream" birthmarks?

Hey guys,
I'm not sure where to post this, but I have a birthmark (I'm 28) on my right knee and I'm tired of people commenting about it. Sometimes I wear pants just to hide it. I know there are more serious things to worry about in the world, like children starving in Africa, but can someone give me some tips on what kind of physician would be able to take it off, if at all? A cosmetologist? Any specialty? There are thousands of cosmetologists in my city, so I just want some kind of direction/advice on who I need to talk to in order to start researching my options.

Here's a crude drawing of what it looks like on my leg, including size and color:

Thanks for any tips and advice!

I would think a dermatologist would be the best place to start with this. By the way, my 3 year old has a cafe au lait spot on the side of her face (in her hairline).

You might start with an over the counter product that has hydroquinine in it. Something like a fade cream. After that, a dermatologist.
